StarrBase Cookies Policy

This Cookies Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies StarrBase uses, why we use them, and how you can manage them.

Effective March 27, 2026Last updated March 27, 2026

StarrBase uses cookies and similar technologies when you use our platform, visit our website, or interact with our services. This policy explains what those technologies are, why we use them, and what choices you have.

This policy is part of our Privacy Policy. By using StarrBase, you agree to the use of cookies as described here.

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember information about your visit, such as whether you are signed in, your preferences, and how you use the platform.

In this policy, 'cookies and similar technologies' includes cookies, local storage, session storage, pixel tags, and device identifiers used for equivalent purposes. We use all of these on StarrBase.

2. Cookies and Technologies We Use

StarrBase uses the following categories of cookies and similar technologies:

  • Essential and functional technologies. These are required for StarrBase to operate. They support authentication sessions via Firebase, streaming player state stored in local storage, platform navigation state, and purchase flow integrity. You cannot opt out of these without disabling platform functionality.
  • Analytics and measurement technologies. StarrBase uses Google Analytics (property G-56VC2GKF5B) to measure traffic, session behavior, and product performance across our website and platform. This involves cookies and identifiers set by Google.
  • Advertising and conversion tracking technologies. StarrBase uses Google Ads conversion tracking (account AW-18025794091), Meta Pixel (pixel ID 952667927187655), and Reddit Pixel (pixel ID a2_i1jvbzygeejb) to measure the performance of advertising campaigns and attribute sign-ups and purchases to their source channels. These technologies set identifiers and may set cookies on your device.
  • Server-side conversion signals. In addition to browser-based tracking, StarrBase sends conversion signals directly from our servers to Meta and Reddit APIs. These signals are used for campaign deduplication and attribution and may include hashed IP address and hashed user-agent data.

3. Third-Party Technologies

The analytics and advertising technologies listed above are provided by third parties - Google, Meta, and Reddit - and are governed by their own privacy and cookie policies in addition to this one. These providers may use the data they collect through StarrBase for their own purposes, including improving their advertising products and showing you relevant ads on their own platforms.

We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of Google, Meta, and Reddit if you want to understand how they use data collected through our platform.

4. Local Storage and Session Storage

In addition to cookies, StarrBase uses browser local storage and session storage for functional platform purposes. These include preserving your streaming player state, suppressing session-level UI prompts you have already dismissed, and caching your content read state within the Members experience.

These local storage values are stored in your browser and are not transmitted to our servers except where needed to operate platform features.

5. How to Manage Cookies

You have several options for managing cookies and similar technologies:

  • Browser settings. Most browsers allow you to view, delete, and block cookies. Blocking all cookies may break StarrBase sign-in and core features.
  • Google Analytics opt-out. You can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout to prevent Google Analytics from collecting data about your visits.
  • Google Ads personalization. You can adjust Google ad personalization settings at adssettings.google.com.
  • Meta advertising preferences. You can manage Meta ad preferences via your Facebook or Instagram account settings under Ad Preferences.
  • Reddit ad preferences. You can manage Reddit ad preferences in your Reddit account settings under Privacy and Safety.
  • Do Not Track. Your browser may be configured to send a Do Not Track signal. Because there is no industry-standard definition of what this signal requires, StarrBase does not currently alter its behavior in response to Do Not Track signals.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookies Policy as our technology stack evolves or as legal requirements change. We will update the effective date at the top of this page when we do. Your continued use of StarrBase after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
